James MACCUNN was b. 22mar1868 (IGI). James was 2nd twin son; he became the composer Hamish MacCunn (d. 2aug1916). James married Alison Quiller Pettie, daughter of John Pettie, RA (Who’s Who). He was influenced by his mother Barbara, who had studied with William Sterndale Bennett (Dictionary Nat Biog).
