Laura A. Mendell Bostic is Buried in Greendale

Funeral services were held in Indianapolis for Mrs. Laura Alice Bostic, 81, who died Sunday, May 13 at an Indianapolis hospital, with burial in Greendale Cemetery, Wednesday, May 16.

Laura Alice BosticS9 was born at Wrights Corner, Aug. 8, 1869, the daughter of Willard and Martha Stevenson Mendell pioneer residents of Dearborn county. Her early life was spent at Wrights Corner where she was active in the work of the Zion M. E. church. She married Robert L. Bostic and they moved to Moores Hill where he husband studied for the ministery at Moores Hill College.

Her husband was retired after he was severely injured in an automobile accident at Boston, Ind., his last appointment. They then took up residence at Danville near Indianapolis, where Rev. Bostic passed away in 1927. Mrs. Bostic continued to live in Danville until her death.

She is survived by a brother, Edward L. Mendell, a sister, Mrs. Carl Jikes, of Indianapolis; three nieces, Mrs. Florence Webb, Ruth Axum and Maxine Gardner; and four nephews, Joseph, William and Wayne Mendell and Carl Jike, Jr.
