OBITUARY Wednesday, June 2, 2004 Alice L. McKinney Alice McKinney Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home YAKIMA - Alice L. Mayenshein Wagner McKinney, 85, of Yakima, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2004, at Yakima Regional Medical Center. Alice was born May 4, 1919, in Grandview, the daughter of Dr. O. L. and Bessie (Cranson) Mayenshein. She was the youngest and last surviving of five brothers and sisters. Alice spent her childhood in Grandview. She then moved to Seattle, where she lived most of her life. During World War II, Alice worked as a policewoman at Mare Island Naval Base in California. She returned to Seattle and worked as a cook at the Good Shepherd Home and at various restaurants. After her children were grown, she moved to Walla Walla and then to Yakima with her daughter, Barbara and Roy Garza, who cared for her the last four years. Her entire life was devoted to her children. She was a very loving and giving person, who to the end worried more for others than herself. She was much loved and treasured and will be sorely missed by all those who knew her. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara L. McKinney and her companion, Roy Garza of Yakima and Margaret C. Mazeski of Moses Lake; three grandchildren, Mark Hooper of Seattle, Heather Hanson of Lynnwood and Jennifer Johnson of Everett; three great-grandchildren, Kevin, Christopher and Brayden, with a fourth on the way and seven nieces and nephews. A Vigil Service will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, June 3, 2004, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. |
