I was delighted to come across your web page recently, and it's a joy reading how far back you've got the family traced. William Henry Knight (#982) was my great-grandfather, and I can give you some particulars about his descendants.

WHK and his wife (the former Kate Inez Baker) lived at their home in Adrian Township their entire married life--their home had already been in the family a long time, and still is today (it's now occupied by the Ruesinks, who also have a large farm across the road. The house has been the scene of many births and marriages. It received a "Centennial Farm" sign not long before WHK died.

Two quick ironies about WHK's birth and death dates: he was born 100 years to the day before my father died, and he died a mere nine minutes before my sister was born.

WHK & KIBK's elder daughter was not named Olive, but actually Alice Jane (8/16/1914-6/2/1983). She went to Olivet College and was a public school teacher in Lansing. She married John Bowlby Brattin (6/7/1915-5/6/1995), an attorney, and they lived most of their remaining years in East Lansing. They had seven children, as follows: John David Brattin (11/25/1939-2/28/1981), Katherine Elizabeth Estes (7/14/1941-), Nancy Lu McMahon (10/18/1945-), CJ Burrell (10/13/1947-), Helen Louise Brattin (4/5/1950-), Stella Margaret Brattin (12/22/1953-), and Joel James Brattin (7/30/1956-). I'm the second child of the late John David Brattin, and I'm married and have a daughter, Lydia Rachel Brattin (2/11/1998-). Lydia's great-(x9)-grandfather is David Knight (1656-1744).

My aunt Katie is the family genealogist, and I'm going to be discussing some things with her soon in the hopes of getting more information, particularly of Alice Jane Brattin's sister Margaret and the latter's descendants.

All the best,
