Alice was employed for over 30 years with the Ringgold Mutual Telephone Company, which later became Contel, serving as a telephone operator, dispatcher and in the billing department. One sister, Gladys Keenan, and two brothers, Mark and Reese Elliott preceded her in death. Her death was caused by a hugh tree falling on her car in the midst of a severe storm that hit Mt. Ayr and surrounding areas.
