Facts and Events
Alice was the seventh of twelve children born to Richard Bunnagar and Mary Griffiths. As the Bunnagers dispersed across England and over to North America, Alice and her sister, Rebecca remained close to each other and moved with their families to Edmonton, Alberta about 1912. My Dad, Bert Davies, described his grandmother as a very devout woman. She lost most of her eyesight in her later years but she still read her bible daily with the aid of a magnifying glass. I have very little personal information on Alice, but to me, her legacy was her family. Thanks for your genes, Granny Crockett. Joan The following obituary appeared in the Edmonton Bulletin of Saturday September 13, 1941: "On September 12, aged 85 years, Mrs. Alice Crockett, widow of Amos Crockett, 11706-87 Street passed away in a local hospital. Crockett, Fergus, Ont.; James, George and Thomas Crockett of Edmonton; one sister, Mrs. B. Arnold, Edmonton; one brother, James Bunnagar, Philadelphia; 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Foster and McGarvey Ltd., Funeral Directors" Image Gallery
