  2. Source:Perley, Sidney. History of Salem, Massachusetts, Vol. 1, p. 252, identifies the wife of Thomas Nelson as Alice Marsh, d/o John Marsh and Alice ---: "Alice, born in Salem; married Thomas Nelson". Not only is no such birth found in Salem VRs, but the probate of Ebenezer Marsh shows that Alice Nelson is his widow.
Also, see Source:Anderson, Robert Charles. Great Migration: Immigrants to New England, 1634-1635, Vol. 6 (R-S), p. 253. Will of "Alice Shafflin of Salme ... widow" [widow of Michael Shafflin, and also the widow of George Booth], dated 2 Mar 1702/03, proved 6 Sep 1714, names "my two daughters viz: Eliza[beth] Booth alias Shaw wife of Israel Shaw & Alice Booth alias Marsh wife of Ebene[e]zer Marsh" citing Essex Probate 311:178; and an agreement 1 Oct 1715 between "Israell Shaw & Eliza[beth] his wife" and "Thomas Nelson & Alice his wife" to divide the land, citing Essex Probate 312:74; this showing that the same woman, daughter Alice, married first Ebenezer Marsh and then Thomas Nelson.
