  1. Source:Ferris, Mary Walton. Dawes-Gates Ancestral Lines, p. 2:108, lists Alice last, presumably implying she was the youngest child, though no birth estimate is given, and her father's death in late 1675 or early 1676 makes this an unlikely fit. The arrangement is probably based on her marriage in 1705, being later than the other daughters' marriages, but one would expect Alice to be one of the earliest, if not eldest daughter, based on her name. In 1705 she is supposed to have married Nathaniel Baldwin of Milford, the marriage record found in Springfield VRs, p. 1:133, but her inclusion in the family is not justified by any of the deeds, etc., that are given, and presumably is based mostly on her name and lack of suitable alternates. Further, she does not seem to be mentioned in Source:Baldwin, Charles Candee. Baldwin Genealogy, from 1500 to 1881, but as no births are found in Milford for a Nathaniel and Alice, there is the distinct possibility she was indeed older than indicated by the marriage date, and marrying a widowed man. The most likely Nathaniel Baldwin seems to be Nathaniel [#5], s/o John of Milford, bp. 1648, and older brother of Obadiah that married Alice's sister Abigail, though no indication is given in the Baldwin Genealogy if or when his first wife died. There is some uncertainty about the birth of Alice's brother Simon, estimated about 1659, and these two siblings could be swapped in the birth order without much disturbance...
