www.heritagepursuit.com - History of Washington County - Adams Township: "Alfred Hall was born in West Virginia in 1802. In 1822 he moved to Ohio and settled in Adams township. He died at Coal Run in 1878. His wife, whose name was Narcissa Ross, was born in 1803, The surviving members of their family are: Matilda Mackay, who resides in Missouri; Malissa Yates, Beverly; Alfred J., Coal Run; Eliza Blackmer, Iowa; Sarah Keever, Coal Run; and Alonzo, who was born in 1828. He married Mary Wilson in 1852. She was born in 1831. They have two children-Clara A. Rose, and Charley. Mr. Hall was engaged in merchandising at Coal Run from 1857 to 1877. He is now retired from business."
