The original notes on this page confuse an Alexander Speers who came to North American before 1800 and lived in Georgia, with one who was born in Ireland about 1822 and lived in Canada with 2 successive wives and many children.

Part of original notes, edited: Alexander was a Methodist Circuit rider. His diary is in possession of Mrs. Mabel Speer Bennett, his granddaughter [daughter of his son William; she died in 1970] in Pittsford, Michigan.
