Alexander Sloan married Jean Moore and Elizabeth (unknown).
An Alexander Sloan signed a Feb 1769 "Petition of the Inhabitants of Hanover Township against the Division of the said Township." Alexander was born 1785 (sic) and died 11 (sic) Jan (sic) 1812. The Historical Sketch of Old Hanover Church by Rev. Thomas H. Robinson, D.D., published in 1878 by the Historical Society of Dauphin County, page 19, 35.
In the Commemorative Biographical Encyclopedia of Dauphin Co., PA, 1896 by J.M. Runk & Co., Chambersburg, PA, p 142-45 has data on the Sloans of Hanover. It includes data on this Alexander "born in 1744" died "January" (sic) 1812 and married Jean Moore. Their children: John, b 1767; Robert, 1769; Alexander, 1771; Isabella, 1773; James, 1775-1 Dec 1820; William, 1777-1818 and Jean, married Alexander Bell, D 1832 in OH.
