On Friday evening, Nov. 19th, 1880, at his residence in this city, Mr. A. Peltier, aged 70 years, 2 months and 19 days. Mr. Peltier was on of those good, moral, upright men who knew no rule but to do right. He was born near Toledo, Ohio, and came to this country with the Pottawatomie Indians in 1838. He was a trader with them and took a prominent part in their councils. When they were in need he helped them to food and rainment; when they needed advice he gave it. He was a friend to the poor and distressed. A devoted member of the Catholic church, and a strict follower of its teachings. Honored for his virtue, loved for his integrity. He has at last gone to that reward that the christian seeks. He leaves a wife and six children; he has been married 40 years. From the Kansas Agriculturist, Friday, November 26, 1880.
