Alexander Laughner, one of the best and favorable known citizens of the county, died at his home in Lamartine, Salem Township, of stone cutters consumption after an illness of about two years, Saturday November 19, 1904. He was the son of Barnet and Catherine Laughner and was born in Beaver Township, February 27, 1841, being in his 64th year at the time of his death. He was married April 13, 1865, to Sarah Grunder who with two daughters Ida and Minnie survive. Two infant daughters preceded him to a better country. He is also survived by seven brothers and one sister. He was a faithful member of the Reformed Church and a charter member of the K.O.T.M. The funeral service were conducted Tuesday, November 22,1904. The Rev. Darbaker, assisted by the Rev. Smith and Robinson. The interment was made in the Reformed Cemetery. The lodge of which he was a member attended, in a body and took charge of the service. The wife and daughters have the sympathy of a large circle of friends and relatives in their bereavement.
