Alexander Hunter married Elizabeth Steele, emigrated from the Province of Ulster and County Tyrone in Ireland to the State of New Jersey, thence to Bedford County, VA. they had 6 children who attained years of maturity, to wit: 1) John Hunter who married Rachel McFarlane [this was later proved not the John who married Rachel...note handwritten in margin]; 2. James Hunter who married Mary McFarlane; 3. Alexander who married Martha Hairston, 4. Samuel who married Sally Whitworth, 5. Elly who married Nicholas Hays, and Elizabeth who married John Wilson.
