Alexander D.G. Baird.
Alexander David Gordon Baird, 96, of Delray Beach, died at his home Monday, April 11, after a long illness. Mr. Baird was the founder and president of A.G. Baird Ltd., a construction operation in Canada which he founded in 1919. Educated at Greenwich Naval Academy in England, Mr. Baird was a member of the Second Canadian Pioneers Batallion with the rank of RSM. He is survived by his wife, Clover Boldt Baird ; one son, Bertram Baird of Toronto ; four grandchildren ; and nine great-grandchildren. Instead of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Church of the Christ Light, in care of the Rev. Jack Van Orman, 2600 SW 22nd Ave. Apt. 912, Delray Beach, FL 33445. Local arrangements are under the direction of Scobee-Ireland-Potter Funeral Home in Delray Beach.
