• 1839 - Alexander is 13. His father goes to the US to seek out land to settle.
• 1841 - Alexander is 15. His father returns to bring family to US. Did Alexander go to the US at this time? A record has not been found.
• 1849 - Alexander is 23. There is a Hamilton co, IL marriage record for Alexander Ayd and Maria Zachmann. Many OLTs say that this record matches Ernest Alexander Ayd, but I am not sure. Needs further research.
• 1856 - Alexander is 30. Immigration record exists ², but I am not sure if this is him.
