     Alex Evans was born May 22, 1862 in Knox County, Kentucky per his death certificate. Alex's mother died when he was young and he was raised by his father. Alex is on the 1870 Federal Census with father,  William and family  living in P.O. Meadow Creek, Louden, Whitley County, Kentucky.

    I hvae not been able to find Alex on the 1880 Federal Census yet. His two sisters, Sarah and Juda along with brothers William and James are all living in Parke County, Indiana by this time. Alex married Cordelia Shelton between 1886-1887 in Kentucky per the 1910 Federal Census. His wife Cordelia is per Alex's Death Certificate. Sometime shortly after the marriage Alex and Cordelia went to Kansas. 

Daoghter, Zella and son Luther were both born there in August of 1888 and August 1890. Alex's brother James lived in Jewel County and sister Sarah lived in Edwards County. The family moved to Knox County, Kentucky before September 1892. On the 1900 Federal Census Alex and family are living in Opassom Hollow, Whitley County, Kentucky:

    Alex died January 26, 1935 in Williamsburg, Whitley County, Kentucky per his Death Certificate. His Death Certificate can be seen at the website Ancestry.com; Kentucky Death Records 1853-1953. The certificate gives his birth date and place, death date and place, his father's name; Sims Evans and his mother's name; Ciss Mackey. It states both parents were born in Kentucky. His spouse is Cordelia Shelton Evans and he died from bronchial pneumonia. His occupation is listed as Carpenter. The informant was his son, Luther Evans. 
   Alex is buried by his wife at Highland Cemetery, Williamsburg, Whitley County, Kentucky.
