THE REV. ALBERT LEPLEY 20010716 THE REV. ALBERT LEPLEY CUMBERLAND -- The Rev. Albert "Lester" Lepley, 90, of the Cumberland Nursing Center, formerly of Old Towne Manor Apartments, died Saturday, July 14, 2001, at Memorial Hospital. Born on Jan. 16, 1911, in West Virginia, he was the son of the late Dalton and Cora Lepley. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. The Rev. Lepley was a retired Nazarene Minister, serving churches in Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Cumberland, and a U.S. Army veteran. He attended the Trevecca Nazarene Bible College in Tennessee. Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Rhea M. Lepley; two daughters, Elizabeth Gordon and husband George, Cumberland, and Rhea Mitzel and husband Staff Sgt. Marty, Fredericksburg, Va.; two sisters, Helen Beall, and Ellen Keel, both of Geneva, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gary Barkley officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be two grandsons, Marty Mitzel Jr. and Joshua Mitzel. Pallbearers will be John Kimble, Faye Elder, Kay Elder, Harold Knotts, Buck Jacobs and Jim Kasecamp. |
