Classification: Surnames: I am looking for any information on Alanson A. Smith. I think he might be my great great grandfather. I found him in the 1920 census living with a daughter in Mankato Township. If this is the right person he at one time lived in Tuscola County MI (Caro). He had a brother or uncle by the name of Freeman Smith. I cannot read the daughters name on the census entry. He was married in 1863 to Emily Shultz. She died in Caro MI on January 1, 1865. They had a son named Albert A. Smith who later changed his name to Albert A. Kile. He was adopted by Gearhart and Nancy Shultz Kile. Any of this sound familiar to any of you? Classification: Query Surnames: Kile, Johnston, Faling, Parkin, Smith Hello, I am really not sure if it is the same person. My great great grandfathers name was Gearhart Kile. He was born 01-28-1816. He died on 09-28-1896. He married Nancy (maiden name unknown) on 02-08-1838. Do not know when she died. They adopted Albert Smith on 01-03-1865. His name was not changed to Kile until 1885 because he had to be 21 first before they could legally change his name. His birthdate is 11-04-1864 and he died on 11-12-1937. They lived in the area around Caro, MI. Albert married Janet Johnston. They are both buried in the cemetary somewhere outside of Caro, MI. They had 5 children, Thresea, Ella, Sadie, Bessie, and Milton Thomas who was my grandfather. By all means contact me if there is a link. Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
