"A funeral service for Albert Langston Kerr, 75, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Homer Murray and Dr. Jack Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Springs Cemetery. Mr. Kerr passed away Monday, April 6, 2009, in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was born December 2, 1933, in Nacogdoches, Texas, the son of Odis and Pearl Lee Kerr. He graduated from Garrison High School, attended Stephen F. Austin University and University of Texas Medical Branch School of Radiology Technology in Galveston, Texas. Shortly thereafter, returning to his home inHolly Springs with the love of his life and wife, Marie. They began their lifelong journey and raised their three daughters on the same place where he was raised in Holly Springs. He enjoyed the country life of gardening, hunting and fishing. He was retired from Moore Business Forms in Nacogdoches, Texas. Some of his interests and activities include an active member of the M.O.O.R.E. group where he established lifelong friends. He also had a passion for computers, and his Internet family spanned the world. He was proud to be a Yellow Dog Democrat. He was also a past master and member of Garrison Masonic Lodge No. 670. He loved life and lived it every minute of every day. Losing the fight against cancer April 6, 2009, at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital was his last battle. His pride and joy was his grandson, Danny. His family, community and his vast number of extended friends and acquaintances will miss him very much. Mr. Kerr is survived by his wife, Marie Kerr of Garrison; daughters and sons- in-law, Jan Kerr Castillo and husband, Saul, of The Woodlands and her son, Spc. Danny Hartman; Reneâ€" Shipp and husband, Jim, of Nacogdoches, Texas; and their children, Jason, Jacob and SaraBeth. Mr. Kerr was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Armstrong; and his parents, Odis and Pearl Lee Kerr. Pallbearers will be Gary Adkison, Hank Curbow, Ted Martindale, Sammy Clifton, Jimmy Crawford and Tom Bishop. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Adkison, Bryson Adkison, Ray Haney and John Blake.
