Albert was a shoemaker by trade.He enlisted May 1,1861 in Co.B, 5th Massachusetts volunteers,and was at first battle Bull Run.He re-enlisted Aug.8,1864, E. Co. 1st Batt. Art.,and stationed at Fort Warren military prison on George's Island in Boston Harbor.(Confederate President Jefferson Davis was a prisoner at Fort Warren during that time). -http://www.hartwell.org/albert.html
