Albert R. Banocy Sr., 80, of Bradenville, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, in Latrobe Area Hospital.
He was born Aug. 27, 1922, in Derry, a son of the late John and Teresa Balasz Banocy.
He was a member of Christ United Church of Christ in Latrobe, and retired from Derry Area School District in 1987.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and John ; and a sister, Helen Krizan.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marian Loughner Banocy; six children, Linda of Glen Burnie, Md., Albert R. Jr. and special friend, Paul Kaliser, Donald and wife, Barbara, Judy and Pat Short, all of Derry, Betty Polvinale and husband, Ralph, of Latrobe and David and wife, Andrea, of Moore, Okla.; and 10 grandchildren, Christopher and wife, Kristen, Patrick, Ashley, Anthony, Kayla, Josh, Alex, Matthew and Jessica.
Friends will be received in the Lopatich Funeral Home Inc., Latrobe, today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Christ United Church of Christ, Latrobe, with the Rev. Wayne D. Sautter officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township.
