Agnes M. Svihla, 92, of McDonald, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014, in ManorCare, McMurray. She was born May 20, 1923, in Carnegie, a daughter of the late John and Pauline Garjavic Petel. Mrs. Svihla worked at the former Western Center in Canonsburg for 18 years, before retiring in 1983. She enjoyed cooking, canning, dancing and playing cards. She always tried to help others and loved time spent with Brooke and Brandy.Surviving are two sons, Gary Svihla of McDonald and Ronald Svihla of Meadow Lands; a daughter, Audrey Underwood of McDonald; a sister, Marie Johnston of McDonald; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Deceased are her companion, Charles A. Loughner; three brothers, Stanley, Jack and Andy; three sisters, Ann Zarnick, Clara Smith and Helen Garcia; and a granddaughter, Brenda Underwood.
