Oceana Pioneer Expires Friday - Mrs. James Cargill had lived in Oceana Nearly 70 Years.

Mrs. James Cargill, a prominent resident of Weare township for half a century, died at her home last Friday after a long illness. Mrs. Cargill had been confined to her bed the past 6 years.

Addie Jane Keech, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Hiram Keech, was born April 2, 1861 in New York state. At the age of 4 she removed to Michigan with her parents and two years later the family came to Otto township. She was married at that place to Charles Wilson, to which union two children were born. In 1888 she married James CArgill of Weare and has since resided there. Mr. Cargill died six years ago.

Surviving are the tow children by the first marriage, Mrs. Mina Powers of Smith Corners and Orrin Wilson, prominent Shelby merchant; one daughter Mrs. Everett Fetters of Wears with who Mrs. Cargill made home and four stepchildren, Oscar Cargill of Mound, Minn., Perry Cargill of Eyota, Minn, Mrs. Dema Perkins of Anamosa, Iowa and Mrs. Laura Beach of Kalamazoo; three sisters, Mrs. Rachel Hawley and Mrs. Fred Royle of Hesperia and Mrs. Carrie Stephenson of Portland, Oregon and several grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from her late home Tuesday afternoon and from the Hart Methodist Church, Rev. Wirth Tennant, paster of the Cyrstal Valley M.E. Church officiating. Burial was in the Hart cemetery.

Mrs. Cargill was a faithful member of the Crystal Valley M.E. Church untill her illness six years ago. For over thirty years she has been the East Weare correspondent for the Hart Journal and her circle of friends were numbered by the hundreds. A tru pioneer in every sence of the word. Her passing is mourned by everyone.
