"Coming to the United States thirty years ago with proficiency in a trade, but otherwise without capital, with little knowledge of the English language, and accepting work whenever he could find it, Adam R. Sundheimer has gradually year by year and step by step worked his way upwards, and has made a place for himself among the successful men of Wabash County." - from the History of Wabash County, Indiana (1914).

The book says that Adam was from "Bavaria", but as was the case for many other related German speaking pioneers of Wabash County, Adam was actually from the part of the PALATINATE which was ruled by the Kingdom of Bavaria for a brief time!
