    Mrs. Addie Hayes Taken By Death.
    Mrs. Addie Hayes, 76 years old, died Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at her home near Houstonville. She had been ill for the past three years. Mrs. Hayes was born in Yadkin county a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Wood. Her husband, Amos Hayes, died 20 years ago. She is survived by three sons and four daughters: Lester Hayes and Miss Esma Hayes of the home: Wade Hayes, Mrs. J.A. Gaither of Harmony: Parks Hayes Statesville: Mrs Herbert Grose of Statesville route 4: Mrs. Clarabell Johnson of Houstonville. There are 12 grandchildren. Three sisters and three brothers also survive: Mrs. Carrie Wright of Harmony route one: Mrs. Shirley Messick of Iowa: Miss Ollie Wood, Arthur and Preston Wood of Hamptonville: G.M. Wood of Fort Worth, Texas. Funeral services for Mrs. Hayes were conducted at 3:30 Sunday afternoon from Holly Spring Baptist church with Rev. J.N. Binkley and Rev. G.D. White in charge. Burial was in the church cemetery.
