Sent E-mail 1-8-98 Shirley Maynard she was looking for John, Thomas P and Obadiah HASTY. in Coweta Co, Ga. Her reply 1-8 was we don't connect.
They were in Henry Co, AL by 1853 as they sold land. A transaction to Weeks Pippin appears in Nov 1853. And to John T Davis in Sep 1856. Received $175 in advance payment of his crop from Thomas Brune in Aug of 1858. Tax record for 941st or 11 district in Randolph CO, GA shows Absolem paying his poll tax in 1848. In the 1850 census Randolph CO, GA Absalom Hasty is listed as Abner Haisty.
Absalom may have been named either Abner Absalom or Absalom Abner, and that his brother was Obediah O. Near by on the census is listed Obediah O Hasty and 12 children, one named Absalom. Also living with Obediah is Jno 73 and A L 70. These could possibly be the parents of Absalom, bus is not documented.
1880 Absalom appears as Abe age 62 and wife Martha 60.
1860 Census Kirkland, Henry, AL pg 185, taken 31 Aug 1860 dwelling # 1280 family # 1279 this census lists a Thomas E Gibson 22 yrs living with them. Need to find out who this person is. Says he was b. GA.

Lynn Hasty has picture of head stone, says Absalom Hasty, b. 19 May 1818, d. 30 Dec 1890, I took the date died of 30 dec 1890 because that is what it looks like on the headstone. It is in the graveyard with an iron fence around the grave with his wife and a baby daughter. It is the only fenced graves in the whole graveyard.
