Information on Abraham Stump

Abraham was a Quaker; he was naturalized in 1765 in Heidelburg Township, Lancaster, PA. In 1771 Abram Stump and family lived in Heidelburg (according to tax records). He took the Oath of Allegiance to the State of Penn. Oct. 20, 1778 in Heidelburg. The family was found in the 1785 PA Census. Abraham owned 200 acres of land and paid 214 pounds tax. In the first federal census of PA, there were 2 males over 16, none under 16 and one female over 16. They were in Franklin County at this time. Abraham purchased land in Letterkenny Twp. in 1787 and sold part of it to his son Mical on 11 June 1790 (franklin co. PA deed book 3, p. 427.

Franklin co. Will book B P 45Register of Wills, probated in 1798, Abraham gave his plantation to his eldest son, Michael. He also gavbe 150 pounds each to son Frederick, son John, daughters catherine, Elizabeth, Christina. He stated that he had already given daughter Ann Maria her share, and that she and her husband Bernhardt Meyer were to get no more from his estate. He names grandchildren Mariah Meyer and John Meyer to recieve 20 pounds each. the will was signed 19 June 1790.
