Among his children was Abraham Newkirk, born March 10, 1764. In 1785 he married Margaret Knox, and soon after purchased a farm of 413 acres, known as the "LEGACY," from his cousin, Henry Newkirk. On March 28, 1816, he sold the last of this holding, and located in Adams County, Ohio. There his wife, Margaret, died July 8, 1823 he died October 5, 1840. They are buried at what is known as Hull Church, near Dunkinsville, Ohio.
