Abraham enlisted at Bruceton on 12/21/1861 in Company H of the 3rd Maryland Volunteer Infantry. He was captured at Harper's Ferry on 9/18/1862. He was later paroled and recaptured at Sandyville, VA on 8/13/1864 and sent to Andersonville Prison in Georgia. He was later sent to Salisbury, NC, where he was hospitalized, and died on 12/29/1864 of "diarrhea." (Dorothy Bonafield Snyder)
