He served in the French War in 1756 in the 1st Co. (Col. Ward), 4th Regt., and was promoted to Sergeant. He appears again in 1758, and was Corporal in 1762. [Conn. Hist. Soc. Coll. 9:143, 145; 10:47, 342.]
Abraham Kimberly, 2nd, was listed in the 1790 Census at Guilford, his family consisting of three males over 16 years, two males under 16 years, and four females.
Action was taken on the estate of Abraham Kimberly 16 May 1808, when an agreement was made by the widow, Thankful Kimberly, and the children, Ira, Pitman, John, Hazzard [sic], Israel, Mary, Abigail and Amanda Kimberly. [Guilford Probate Rec. 17:19.]"
