History of Conway Co. published in 1890 by Goodspeed says that Abraham's father was a boy during the Revolutionary War and his surname was originally Faxton/Faxon/Paxton. He was stolen from his family by a Tory named Jones. He kept the Jones name and passed it down to his descendants.
