In the Name of God Amen. I Abraham Funkhouser son of John Senior Deceased of Shenandoah County and Commonwealth of Virginia being at Present weak in body of a Sound and Disposing mind and Memory Do Think proper to make this my Last Will and Testament which I do In the following manner and form and In the first place I order and Direct That all my just Debts and funeral Expenses be paid and Discharged by my Executors as soon as Convenient after my Decease...
Item I give and bequeath To my wife Magdaline Peaceable possession on the Plantation I now Live on During her natural Life and the use of the said plantation on the northwest side of the run the run? To be the Line Down as far as the Lane Just above the Damn which shall fall to the share to Daniel my son as well as all the rest of the East side of the run aforesaid and shall have Liberty of the orchards on Daniel side During her natural Life and Liberty of the garden to and from at all Times During the term aforesaid and one full Third of my Live Stock hoofe kind Cattle & ___ hogs and of the house hold furniture and farming utensils & one full Third Share she having the first Choice of the same of Beds & ___ Table, Chairs and Iron pots, pewters, tubs to her __ During her natural Life and my said Wife shall raise and bring up any children under age & cause them to be Learnt reading and writing and finding appearls washing & Lodging for them with her on the said plantation During the Term aforesaid...
Item I do give and Divise all the part of my plantatino Lying on the East side of the run?, which is Leading this my plantation which said run shall be the Line of partition as far downthe said run to the Lane from above the Kamn all which is that to be To Daniel the meadow and the Damn below the house shall be my said son Daniel share to him and his heirs and assigns forever ~ and my said son Daniel shall pay and of his share of the Land or plantation aforsaid to my youngest son Samuel one hundred and forty pounds Lawful money of Virginia to be paid to the said Samuel my youngest son on for arriving to the lawful age of Twenty one years and further the said Daniel shall give Liberty to his mother to Tend one Tendere? field adjoining the orchard & garden During her natural Life to her own use~
Item I do give and Divise unto my son Abraham all the other part of my plantation to him and to his heirs and assigns forEver to be by him possessed after the Decease of my said wife Magdalene or on his arriving to his full age of Twenty one year and my said son Abraham shall pay for said part of my Plantation Divided between him and Daniel the sum of sixty pounds of Lawful money of Virginia to my youngest son Samuel one year after the Date of his full age.
Item I give and Divise to my said son AbrahamSamuel the sum of Two hundred pounds Current money of Virginia To be paid him by Daniel and Abraham the respective sum the pertate? above of Each of them to pay him and to give unto my said son Samuel one horse Creature at his arriving to his full age both are joined to find the said house creature~
Item I do give and Devise all the rest of my Personal Estate To my five Daughters Barbary, Ann, Magdalene, Mary and Regina, Share and share alike and I order and Direct that if my said five daughters before mentioned Can not agree and Divide and share among them selves ~ then it shall be sold and the money arising from such sald to be Equally Divided among them share & shares alike
And Lastly I Do nominate and appoint my son Daniel Funkhouser and my Brother David Funkhouser to be the Executors to this my Last Will & Testament ~ Allowing this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament In Testimony where of I have here unto set my hand and seal this Eleventh Day of April in the year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and Ninety Six.
