link 25 Oct 1698 Leah Baker of Boston, widow and Nathaniel Byfield of Boston, merchant, whereas land purchased by Thomas Clark, Shopkeeper, Boston dec'd of Usal Wardell; did give grant to his daughter Elizabeth Stephens (afterwards Bligh [sic Blish]) and unto the heirs of her body to be divided equally between his heirs, whereas the sd Elizabeth Stephens alias Bligh [sic Blish] departed this life leaving no issue of her body.. the estate became the property of the sd Leah Baker and Deborah the wife of sd Nathaniel Byfield the two surviving children of the before named Thomas Clarke.

[She was named Elizabeth Stevens in several deeds and later Elizabeth Bligh. Only two men in Boston had a wife named Stevens: Nicholas and Erasmus Stevens. Erasmus left several heirs with his wife Elizabeth and as the above deed makes clear she left no heirs and therefore could not be wife of Erasmus Stevens. She had one daughter recorded with Nicholas in 1669 and Nicholas died in 1670 per Suffolk Probate; She married second Abraham Bligh/Blish who surived her].
