Two brothers of this family, Thomas and Elisha [Hall], married sisters---Bennetts. A daughter of Elisha [Hall] writes me this about the Bennett family: "My grandfather's (Bennett) name was Abraham, and grandmother's Catharine Roberts, before marriage. He married twice. By his first marriage he had two children, who married in Maryland and never came here. He was a well-to-do man, a good husband, a kind father, and a christian. He and his wife were both members of the Presbyterian Church, but after coming here they united with the M. E. church, there being no Presbyterian. He lived and died on Ten-mile creek. He was a man of note, owning a large tract of land."
