GAGE, Abner, s. Ruth, wid., bp. Nov. 17, 1776. CR1
↑ This seems incredible, being 16 years after her husband died and the mother would have been 45. Abner is placed in this family by Source:Bowen, Clarence Winthrop. History of Woodstock, Connecticut, Vol. 5, p. 231. No other widow Ruth Gage is seen in Lincoln records. Jonathan's probate mentions a charge for taking care of "the child" (meaning son Jonathan) suggesting Abner definitely did not belong to the deceased father Jonathan. See the deed cited on Ruth's page which mentions Peter Underwood as executor of Ruth's will. No such will is found and looking for a will of the mother has been a dead end. Nothing further has been found on Abner.
