[Note: there is a marriage record for "Elijah Holton of Killingly" in 1770 to Rebecca Adams, while the birth of "Alpheus Holton" to Elijah and Rebecca is in 1769, per Woodstock Records. This appears to be Elijah Houghton as Alpheus ends up in Lyndon, VT, with Elijah. However, regarding the dates, Source:Bowen, Clarence Winthrop. History of Woodstock, Connecticut, Vol. 7, p. 102, says the records are "undoubtedly in error", though an alternative explanation could be that there were two wives both named Rebecca. ??]
