Elijah Holton of Killingly & Rebecca Adams of Woodstock were Married October 17th 1770 by Rev'd Abel Stiles Pastor.
[Note: compare to birth of son Alpheus. Original is here. Source:Bowen, Clarence Winthrop. History of Woodstock, Connecticut, Vol. 7, p. 102, says the records are "undoubtedly in error", and probably the marriage is the incorrect date since a second child b. 1771 (allegedly, according to Source:Houghton, John Wesley. Houghton Genealogy, p. 273, the record of this birth not located) would not leave enough room to adjust Alpheus' birth to a reasonable value. Note that an alternative explanation could be that there were two wives both named Rebecca. ??]
