In Nile, Allegany Co., N. Y., Oct. 25th, 1872, Mrs. Abby Coon, wife of Alonzo A. Coon, and daughter of the late Dea. Rowland T. Green; aged 57 years. Sister Coon embraced religion at the early age of twelve years, and united with the Seventh-day Baptist church of Friendship. She was subsequently connected with several other churches at the West, being one of the organizing members of the Christiana Seventh-day Baptist Church. At her death, she was a member of the Friendship Church, having resided, within its bounds for the past eleven years. She was a faithful devoted Christian as all who knew her are well assured. For many years a great sufferer, yet she bore all with Christian patience and fortitude. As she neared the brink of the river, joy was expressed in her countenance, as she said to a weeping daughter at her bedside, "Do not weep for me, I am going home to Jesus." Verily, "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord." B. F. R.
