He may have been the son of the first wife.

From the Barnes Family Yearbook

I find no record of this son of Ebenezer Barnes outside of the land records. These records show a deed from Ebenezer, given in 1746 to his son, Abiah and to Lois his wife, and I therefore insert the name in the record of his children.

At least one researcher gives him a son, Abiah, b. abt 1753 in Farmington.
