Research notes

He was a sheriff of Cecil County. After leaving that position, he made application to be admitted to the County Bar, claiming that he could not find a competent attorney to represent him before the courts. He contended that he could attend to his own affairs and at the same time help others, and on this basis he was admitted about 1717. Citation needed

The descendants of this family settled in Virginia.
