A quote taken from a letter written Feb. 5, 1966 by Lola (Brandenburg) Leedham, who resided in Webster Grove, Missori at that time: "Great-grandfathr Aaron used to tell my father when he was a young boy about trips he made down the Ohio River and Mississippi to New Orleans, from his home in Ohio. He would go down stream with a cargo ship of goods, then take the short way through the forest back to Ohio. One time an Indian captured him, tied him to a tree, then left for some reason. Grandpa worked furiously to get loose, then ran for miles to escape another encounter; that was before he married Rebecca Drake."
