Lucy Ann Gunn was born February 1830 in Ohio. In 1850 Aaron, his wife Lucy Ann, and son Seymour R. (poor film) born 8/12 1850 in Ohio, lived near Aaron's father Philip Bovee in Cherry Valley, Ashtabula County Ohio. Aaron H. Bovee served in the Civil War in the 11th Michigan Cavalry (may be an error), Company A of the 13th Michigan Infantry (see below). In 1870 Aaron, his wife Lucy, and their children Aaron K., born 1862 in Michigan; Emma I., born about 1864 in Michigan; and Myron, born 1866 in Michigan; were living in Irving, Barry County, Michigan. He had the rank of Private. He was discharged on June 20, 1862 due to a disability at Louisville, Kentucky. The disability was rheumatism, which was contracted in March 1862 at Green River, Kentucky. The document says he was born in New York about 1823 and that he was admitted to the Western Branch of The Home of Disabled Soldiers at Leavenworth, Kansas, on February 16, 1893. He was 70 years old, 5'6" tall, with a light complexion. His occupation was "laborer". His marital status was "single", but this may be an error since Lucy dies in 1903. His rate of pension was $10 (probably per month). He was discharged on October 1, 1894, and subsequent to discharge he lived with a relative, Frederick Bovee (probably his youngest son) at 206 13th Street in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was readmitted on December 22, 1894 and discharged again on June 2, 1896. His pension certificate number is 515-425. References
