"New information on the first Landry in Acadia." Steve White proves from marriage dispensations that Rene' LANDRY (the younger) could not have been closely related to any of the other three LANDRYs in the first censuses of Acadia. Antoinette LANDRY was definitely the sister of Rene' (the elder) LANDRY. At least nine marriage records between great-grandchildren where dispensations to the 4th degree were needed. Perrine LANDRY (widow of Jacques JOFFRIAU) lived in 1671 and 1678 beside Laurent GRANGER & Marie LANDRY, daughter of Rene' (the elder) LANDRY. However, Perrine did not leave any descendants, so no definite proof besides residence and name links her to this family.
