In a letter to [User:trentf Trent] dated 8-Oct-15, James said that "most of my data came through an aggressive and profuse letter campaign to any possible relatives I could locate in the U.S. and Cechy, and the generous help of some who did respond. (I checked an awful lot of phone directories, city directories, etc) Did get some help through several genealogical societies, church records, the Czech Embassy (service no longer offered), and notes of what my mother told me long ago."
