Scot . . . shall pay to the said John Long . . . the sum of a Note given “Dec 25 1868 For value recd & promise to pay to the Order of John Long the Sum of two hundred and sixty-six & two thirds Dols ($266 2/3) One half to be paid in one year from the first day of March 1869 the remainder to be payd in two (2) Years from march first 1869 The full principal to draw interest at the rate of six percent (6%) from March 1st 1869 untill payed In manner particularly Specified in a certain Note bearing even date herewith executed by the said Joseph T. Scott to the said John Long then and from thence forth these presents shall be void.
