On this the 24th day of December AD1850 personally appeared before me the undersigned a Justice of the Peace within and for the County and State aforesaid Abner Dunn aged sixty two years a resident of the County of Clinton in the State of Indiana who being duly sworn according to law declared that he is the Identical man who was a Soldier in the company commanded by Captain Montgomery whose given name he has forgotten nor dose he remember the Number of the regiment or the name of the man by whom it was commanded but that it was in the war with Great Britain declared by the United States on the 18th day of June AD 1812 that he was drafted at the state of Indiana about sixty miles below Vincennes in said state on or about the first day of August AD 1812 for the term of three months and continued in actual service in said war for the term of forty days and was honorably discharged at Vincennes on or about the 10th day of September AD 1812 He further saith that he never received a regular written discharge but that his discharge will appear by the muster rolls of said Company He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty lands to which he may be entitled under the act of granting bounty land to certain officers and soldiers who have been engaged in the military service of the United States passed September the 20th AD 1850.

Dear Sir
I herewith send you a sett of papers on behalf of One Nancy Dunn widow of Abner Dunn decd to procure the bounty Land to wit 160 acres to which she is entitled under the act of March 3d 1856 On account of the services of the decd husband –
She also sends asks for cancellation a 40 acre warrant No. 47.621 which issued to her said husband under the act of Sept 28th 1850 and prays that she may now receive a Warrant for 160 acres –
If any thing further shall be required in her case to procure her warrant please to correspond with the subscriber who is her atty & will attend promptly to this matter
She desires that her warrant may be sent to the undersigned by mail as soon as the same may issue - I am personally acquainted with the applicant and know her to be the widow of the said Abner Dunn to whom said Warrant issued as I was also his atty & procured the same for him –

On the eighteenth day of June AD One thousand Eight hundred and fifty six personally appeared before me, a justice of the peace within and for the county and State aforesaid
Nancy Dunn aged fiftynine years a resident of Clinton County in the State of Indiana who being duly sworn according to law declares that she is the widow of Abner Dunn deceased, who was a private in the Company Commanded by Captain Montgomery in the Regiment of Indiana militia commanded by Colonel [blank] in the War with Great Britain declared by the United States on the 18th day of June 1819 – that her said husband was drafted on or about the [blank] day of [blank] A.D. 1812 or 1813 for the Term of six months as she believes and continued in actual service in Said war for the Term of fourteen days (and upwards), and was honorably discharged at [blank] on or about the [blank] day of [blank] A.D. 1812 or 1813 as near as she can state.
She further states that she was married to the said Abner Dunn in [blank] county in the State of Indiana on the 12th day of November AD 1824 by one Mr. Black a Justice of the peace and that her name before her said marriage was Nancy Miller That her said husband died at Clinton County in the State of Indiana on the first day of September AD 1851 and that she is now a widow. She further declares that her said husband in his life time heretofore made application for bounty land under the act approved September 28h 1850 and obtained a land warrant for 40 acres No. 47.621 which is returned herewith –
She makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty land to which she may be entitled under the Act approved March 3, 1855

We William Cunningham and Alexander Lydy residents of Clinton County in the State of Indiana upon our oaths declare that the foregoing declaration was signed and acknowledged by the said Nancy Dunn in our presence and that we believe, from the appearance and Statements of the applicant, that She is the identical person she represents herself to be

We the subscribers resident of Hamilton County in the State of Indiana being duly sworn upon our oaths declare that we are well acquainted with the said applicant Nancy Dunn and also that we were well acquainted with her husband the said Abner Dunn in his life time & during a period of several yeas – That the said Nancy Dunn and the said Abner Dunn lived together & cohabited as husband and wife to our certain knowledge for many years & up to the time of his death - & that they were always reputed & esteemed as husband and wife by all their neighbours & by all persons to whom they were at all known – that the said Abner Dunn died at Clinton County in the State of Indiana On or about the first day of September Ad 1851 leaving the said Nancy Dunn his lawful widow – that she the said Nancy Dunn is still living that she has not married since the death of her said husband & that she is the lawful widow of the said Abner Dunn deceased all of which facts we testify to from our certain personal knowledge & we further swear that we have no interest herein
