Jean Hebert of the village of Borderhouat, Locmaria Parish

On 11 February 1767 appeared Jean HEBERT, a planter, living in the village of Borderhouat, Locmaria parish on this island, accompanied by Charles GAUTROT, Miniac DAIGRE, Emilien SEGOILOT and Charles GRANGER, all Acadians living on this island in Locmaria parish and Palais, before whom Jean HEBERT stated that he was born at Pigiguit, Assumption Parish in 1699 (1698?) of Jean HEBERT and Jeanne DOUARON; Jean HEBERT was born of Etienne HEBERT who came from France with Marie GODET, his wife; both died at Port Royal; Jeanne DOUARON was the daughter of Charles, who came from France and who died at Pigiguit, Holy Family Parish.

Marriage of Jean Hebert and Marguerite Trahant

Jean HEBERT, married in 1722 in the said parish to Marguerite TRAHANT, daughter of Alexandre of Port Royal who died at St. Jean Island in 1750; and of Marie Pellerin, who died in Acadia on 27 August 1756. Marguerite TRAHANT, wife of Jean HEBERT, died at Liverpool, England, on 30 August 1759.

From the said marriage of Jean HEBERT and the deceased Marguerite TRAHANT were born.

Jean Hebert

1) Jean HEBERT - in 1729, married in 1751 at the Mines, St. Charles Parish, to Anne LeBLANC, daughter of Pierre and Anne THERIOT. Transported with their family to Cayenne.

Allain Hebert

2) Allain HEBERT - born in March 1725 in the said parish, married there in first marriage in October 1746 to Henriette THIBODAULT, born in the said parish in 1727, the daughter of Jean Baptiste and Marguerite BOUDROT of the same parish and transported by the English to Boston. Henriette THIBODAULT died at Pigiguit in September 1754.

From the marriage of Allain HEBERT and the deceased Henriette THIBODAULT were born:

1) Firmin HEBERT - born Assumption Parish in 1747

2) Elizabeth HEBERT - born in 1749

3) Paul HEBERT - born in 1751

4) Marguerite Blanche HEBERT - born in 1753

The said Allain HEBERT was transported from Boston to England and married in second nuptials at Liverpool in December 1759 to Francoise SALTNIER, daughter of Pierre and Marguerite VINCENT of Riviere aux Canards, St. Joseph Parish. Allain HEBERT left England with his wife for Cayenne where they died. The children from the second marriage were:

1) Pascal HEBERT - son of Jean and Marguerite TRAHANT, born in Assumption Parish in 1755, married at Liverpool in England to Francoise TRAHANT, daughter of Pierre and Jeanne DAIGRE of the Riviere aux Canards, St. Joseph Parish. Pascal went to Cayenne and with TRAHANT went from Cayenne to France and is at present in the village of Calastren, Bangor Parish.

2) Agnes HEBERT, born at Pigiguit in the said parish in 1740, married on 28 January 1758 at Liverpool to Joseph LeBLANC, living on this island, Village of Kledan, Sauzon Parish.

Arnable Hebert

3) Arnable HEBERT, born same place in 1746 and married at Liverpool to Marie RICHARD, daughter of Pierre, living on this island, Klebec village, Palais Parish, and Marie Josephe LeBLANC, died at Liverpool. From this marriage were born two children:

1) Marie HEBERT - on 9 January 1764 at Morlaix, St. Matthew Parish, Diocese of Trequier;

2) Brigitte HEBERT, born on a flatboat on which they came to this island on 29 September 1765 and baptized the next day at Morlaix, St. Matthew Parish, Diocese of Trequier.

Magdeleine Modeste HEBERT

4) Magdeleine Modeste HEBERT - born in the same parish in 1741 and married at Liverpool on 30 January 1757 to Jean Baptiste TRAHANT, born at Riviere aux Canards, St. Joseph Parish, on 17 January 1735, son of Joseph and Elizabeth THERIOT. Joseph TRAHANT died at Liverpool and Elizabeth, his wife, in Virgine. Joseph TRAHANT, son of Jean TRAHANT and Marguerite BOUDROT, also died in the parish of St. Joseph. Jean TRAHANT, issue of Guillaume TRAHANT, came from France and married Magdeleine LeBRUN at Port Royal. Both died at Port Royal. Marguerite BOUDROT, issue of Charles and Magdeleine BOURG, died at Pigiguit, Holy Family Parish.

From the marriage of Jean Baptiste TRAHANT with Magdeleine Modeste HEBERT were born two children, that is: 1) Jean Baptiste at Liverpool on 3 April 1761, and 2) Jean Michel on 26 August 1764 at Morlaix, St. Matthew Parish, diocese of Treguier; Jean HEBERT, informant, married at Liverpool on 8 October 1763 to Esther COURTENAY, English, aged 57 to 58 years old.
