According to Charlotte & Carol Fisher Megill's article "The Megill Family of Monmouth County," in Genealogies of New Jersey Families from the Genealogical Magazine of New Jersey, GPC, Baltimore (1996), Volume 1, pages 560-7: William Fletcher Megill was living in the household of John and Ann Jackson of Ocean Township in 1870. Mr. Jackson was a grocer, and William clerked in his store.
