Elizabeth's grave in Barnack churchyard. The lower part of the inscription is faded beyond legibility, but the upper part says "SACRED / TO THE MEMORY OF / ELIZABETH WIFE OF / WILLIAM MASON..." This gravestone is mentioned in Barnack Church: A Guide to the Historic Parish Church of St. John the Baptist, Barnack (Stamford, 1968, P.G.M. Dickinson, revised 1990 by J.M. Goodwin): "Bordering the grass path running due south from the porch are some excellent headstones, one in particular to Elizabeth Mason and dated 1842, has a winged cherub's head between two seated children, all carved in high relief."
